HOW TO DETECT FAKE HONEY (IT’S EVERYWHERE), USE THIS SIMPLE TRICK

It is a well-known fact that pure honey is highly nutritious and packed with a wide plethora of health benefits. Some of the most significant benefits include its ability to prevent cancer and heart disease ( due to its antioxidants and flavonoids), reduce gastrointestinal disorders like ulcers, and offer powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. According to Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand, “All honey is antibacterial, because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide.” In addition to these, honey is also known to boost athletic performance and accelerate recovery time, soothe cough and throat irritation, heal wounds and burns, keep blood sugar in check, and many more.

However, in order to reap these benefits you need to use raw, organic, and pure honey. Otherwise, everything will be in vain and you are not going to benefit from eating honey whatsoever. If you want to know whether the honey you have bought is natural, you are recommended to try these simple tricks.

1. Read The Label Carefully

Reading the label will help you choose the additive-free honey because the producers are obliged to label the content by law.

2. Real Honey Does Not Stick

Take some honey and rub it between the tips of your fingers. If the honey is real, your skin will absorb it easily. But if the honey sticks on the fingers, it means that it is full of sugar and artificial sweeteners.

3. Caramelization

Heat a few teaspoons of honey in your microwave. If the honey is real, it will caramelize. But if the honey becomes all foamy and bubbly, it means that it’s fake.

4. Paper

Put some honey on a sheet of paper. If the honey is not absorbed on the paper after a while, it means that it’s the real deal. On the other side, the fake honey will be absorbed on the paper due to its high amount of water.

5. The Bug Trick

Ants do not enjoy in natural honey produced by bees. You will only need to put some honey in a corner, and if ants don’t touch it at all, it means that you have bought a real honey.

6. Water and Honey

You will need to soak the honey in water. The honey is real if it makes lumps and falls to the bottom. On the other side, the fake honey will just melt.

7. Honey and Bread

Spread honey on a slice of bread. If the bread becomes too hard, it means that your honey is natural. On the other side, the fake honey will only dampen the surface of the bread due to its large amount of water.

8. Crystallization

Real, pure honey is known to crystallize after a while. On the other hand,  fake one does not crystallize, but keeps its liquid composition instead.
