Turmeric For Brain Health
The ability of turmeric to improve brain function was relatively unknown until recently, when it was discovered that curcumin, the active ingredient found in turmeric, can be very helpful in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The researchers have found that curcumin can inhibit the buildup of one of the primary causes for Alzheimer’s, beta-amyloid plaques, by a whopping 40%.
In addition to this, it was also discovered that curcumin’s powerful anti-inflammatory properties can play a major role in Alzheimer’s treatment as well, as it reduces damage caused by inflammation and oxidizing agents.
Also, there are some studies which suggest that turmeric can be used for the treatment of depression.
Turmeric and Oil/Fat- recipe
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 pinch black pepper
Here’s what you need to do – put the ingredients into a saucepan. Put it on heat. Mix until the mixture boils. Then, remove it from heat and drink it warm. You can also add the mixture to your soups, curries, or other recipes.
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1-2 cups of water
- Boil the water, then add turmeric and let it boil for another 10 minutes.
- Let the mixture cool for few minutes before drinking it..
